"I Was Really A good Mom Before I Had Kids"

So I stumbled upon a Godsend of a book that made me feel like I wasn't completely bonkers for feeling the way I do sometimes " I Was Really A good Mom Before I Had Kids" by Trisha Ashworth and Amy Nobile is not a conventional read but it is however comforting. So we've been blessed with these wonderful children however they come with no manual and moms are only human and the worst of thoughts come into our heads when the children are whining, the car won't start, the food got burnt and we have a diner to go to tonight and didn't get time to shave. Being a woman comes with its own complications add husbands, children, family life to the mix and it's total chaos.
The book shows the grin and bear it attitude that a lot of moms adapt without really addressing the issue itself or admitting to themselves how they truly feel as they went around asking moms if they were feeling like they were losing their minds. It's a humorous spin on a serious subject of how women suppress their feelings to keep it together. I must admit I am generally happy and grateful, but being around two people under the age of 6 all day long with no adult talk until my husband comes home makes me want to scream after at least 3 days straight of the same routine with no breaks.
One minute you're carefree and have all the time in the world and the next you're responsible for this little person and their needs a lot of the time with no experience whatsoever. Your job description has been extended to not only mom but, nurse, counsellor, teacher, chef, maid and the list goes on. It's easy for women to lose their identity and sense of self along the way as their me time is limited or non existent. So don't judge the women that go to the spa and the salon to be taken care of to be on top of their grooming. Jealousy isn't cute so just spread the love ok people????
So all in all the book just lets us know not to be to hard on ourselves, we do the best we can and we're not alone.
So go out and read it if you feel like you're alone in crazyville. We all have our days. so It gets a thumbs up from me.
